ART
I work with many different mediums ranging from watercolor to cut paper to fabric. My art making practices allow for an escape into another little world, providing me with a safe place to process the world around me.
LANDSCAPE PAINTING
The landscape is my love. Nature intrigues me. Some people go to houses of worship to connect to a sense of purpose or sanctity, but I venture off to the mountains, the hiking trails of parks, or the lakes and woods of beautiful nature preserves, because it is these types of places that provide me with the most grounding, humbling, and existential feelings I will ever experience. This translates into my art not only in imagery, but in process as well: the way I feel and connect with the fibers of the paper, the water from my brushes, and the paint and ink bleeding on a page.
"I experience a period of frightening clarity in those moments when nature is so beautiful. I am no longer sure of myself, and the paintings appear as in a dream." - Vincent Van Gogh
